WE CAN'T DO IT ON
OUR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS
June 7, 2020 5.21 am 5.44- Romans 3:10-12 King James Version (KJV)
Once a person becomes reborn as a believer that is a great start but still this passage above is severe. Our minds and sometimes our thoughts have become so polluted by worldliness/sin nature as you know that falling nature tends to make one stray even when we imply/say we don't. We don't know it all and we cannot be Pharisees but at the same time what matters to Christ is not those things we bring or think are valuable when they are an abomination to God. They are not eternal but really obstacles of illusion. To forgive as God has forgiven us is important. JOHN 3:16 as this God reminds me often. How merciful he is to those that come to him. The line "Our own knowledge" is two fold. We can obtain/learn more knowledge but we can also reject the undenial truth that has been HIJACKED. That's why I said many people have a cartoon figure of Christ Jesus. And as in a cult nature when spelled out some Christians think it's Satin attacking them but it's really Satin's work of deception and what has been aforementioned here that makes them reject with vengeance the undeniable rock solid truth.
Just as explained of Matthew 13:12. "It means that those who reject the knowledge of God will become more and more confused whereas those who accept the knowledge of Christ will become increasing wise. Mat 13:12 For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away."
Romans 10:3-4, “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” His grace is sufficient for us believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. You can sin wilfully or ignorantly. Shall grace abound or be extended? Or shall you be cut off. How much more valuable you are than sparrows.
As in Barnes Notes on the Bible. "Of God's righteousness" - Not of the personal holiness of God, "but of God's plan of justifying people, or of declaring them righteous by faith in his Son;" see the note at Romans 1:17. Here God's plan stands opposed to their efforts to make themselves righteous by their own works.
As in Henry Mathews commentary. "The Jews built on a false foundation, and refused to come to Christ for free salvation by faith, and numbers in every age do the same in various ways. The strictness of the law showed men their need of salvation by grace, through faith. And the ceremonies shadowed forth Christ as fulfilling the righteousness, and bearing the curse of the law."

Foot notes ..
- No likewise way am I suggesting that Christians become Pharisees. That is not the way of Christ. But at the same time we should be able to acknowledge the route of the Christian faith which is a Hebraic faith. Christ was Jewish. God was/is working his WILL. And! gentiles are not Jews. See Galatians 3:28-29 kjv.
Colossians 2:9 King James Version (KJV)
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
What mercy John 3:16 : Praise his holy name. Make melody unto the lord.
