What was nailed to the cross

March 13, 2019

God knows your hearts. For what is prized among men is detestable before God.

What was nailed to the cross? Was it ours debts and the law of the prophets? Was the Ten Commandments really nailed to the cross? Here are three links below on that. For the time being there are even more links further below too. I will update this blog later.

In these three links at first glance or should I say study they appear logical and truth but there are other bible passages that supports the law being less important than the peace between believers being Jew & Gentile.  I have read the work in biblical apologetic(s) and studied the passages in the bible that supports such and provided the links below.

What was nailed to the cross

Again now on further study it does appear that the matter rests on peace between Jew & Gentile (believers) which is in essence more important than the law. It does appear the believers are not bound to the mosaic law. But the law can be complicated in it's individual parts and understanding. There appears to be some form of dispensation involved. There was hatred, division and strife between Jew & Gentile once. It can seem rather complex. I found some great articles of explanation of such. There was a need to make the two folds one fold under Christ and there needed to be peace so God relaxed the laws of the prophets/Moses so there would be peace between these two camps as they worship the same messiah Jesus Christ (Yeshua). As I say there appears to be a dispensation of the scriptures and Christ is the end of the law, and our righteousness focal point, a teacher and the head of his body of believers. It almost seems like they put Paul up against Christ but when you can rightly divided the word of God Paul is not against Christ. It is true God is a God of love and mercy and he certainly shows it herein.

I can tell you this does not mean born again Christians now can live like devils, keep pagan traditions and do things God says is an abomination.  Isaiah 66 is interesting as it says what God thinks of those who love all these wicked things that drives God to anger. Remember God says he does not change yesterday, today and tomorrow.

I would like to say in my blogs and Christian walk as a believer in messiah, I am not better or have higher standards than other believers. I have my standards that is important to my savior and his instructions and teachings. But I am compelled to picking up my cross and following the messiah. I think unrighteousness is of the devil. I point out the truth vanity, sin & biblical prophecy wise and study the bible. There needs to be the heart of the lord present as well. I am not alone as God is with me. I am not perfect but I can tell you that the world is truly deceived just as it is written. The scriptures are true. Hell is a real place and many will parish if they don't truly get saved and turn to the God of the bible. Jesus Christ is REAL and he is RISEN. Just as it is written the world is deceived. It truly is. Satin the devil deceives THE WHOLE WORLD!

Here is an article of the varying forms/parts of the law. What is the difference between the ceremonial law, the moral law, and the judicial law in the Old Testament? See HERE

"For he is our peace - There is evident allusion here to Isaiah 57:19. See the notes at that verse. The "peace" here referred to is that by which a "union" in worship and in feeling has been produced between the Jews and the Gentiles Formerly they were alienated and separate." Ephesians2-14 (See/Read Commentaries)

(2 b.) Ephesians 2:14-18 pass on from the description of the call of the heathen to personal union with God in Christ, to dwell on the perfect unity and equality of Jew and Gentile with each other in Him, and the access of both to the Father."

"Isaiah 57:13-21 The idols and their worshipers shall come to nothing; but those who trust in God's grace, shall be brought to the joys of heaven."

Did Christ come to abolish the law? What is the truth and how can we better understand that truth? See HERE.

One can see from reading Ephesians 2:14-15 and even beyond in scripture that there appears to say/imply that a dividing partition has been made void between to the camps being both Jew and Gentile believers in messiah. God seems to have abolished or taken out of the way the enmity as this is the state or feeling of being actively opposed or hostile to someone or something. So in essence an authoritative order; a decree has been reduced or the implication and justification now lies on making in himself (Christ) of twain one new man, so making peace can be present as Christ is the prince of peace. He is the end of the law and our focal point. Remember he said to think no evil and to do no evil as well as forgive others or God will not forgive us.

What did Jesus mean that He came not to abolish the law, but to fulfill it?
What did He mean that 'not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished' (Matthew 5:18)? See HERE.

I did read and study scriptures and read the articles listed on this blog. There is reference made in the sermon on the mount to perfection. I know in that Christ said be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect. What does that mean? Humans are not perfect but wicked unless they are truly born again. At least many are as we know from Christs own words there is not even one who is good. Our righteousness is a  bag of dirt to God. Well righteous judgment, a forgiving and loving heart but at the same time you can not love God with all your heart, might and soul if you refuse to pick up your cross and follow Christ.

I am paraphrasing this verse from one of the articles but will elaborate.

"We are saved by God's grace (Ephesians 2:8–9). Being under grace, believers are not bound by the Law (Romans 6:14), but we have the Holy Spirit actually living in our hearts. The Spirit gives us the ability to "love one another" (John 13:34), and we know that "the one who loves another has fulfilled the law" (Romans 13:8). Christians do not work at fulfilling the Mosaic Law, which Christ fulfilled on our behalf (Matthew 5:17); rather, we fulfill the "law of Christ" by the Spirit's power (Galatians 6:2)."
See HERE.

So you might ask what is the big deal and who were these Ephesians. You can read the articles and the bible to get a better idea but I think this paraphrase says a lot.

"Ephesians deals with topics at the very core of what it means to be a Christian—both in faith and in practice—regardless of any particular problem in the community"

What's the big idea?  "Paul divided his letter to the Ephesians into two clear segments; applying the truths of the first makes possible the actions and lifestyle of the second. Paul spent the first three chapters of the letter discussing God’s creation of a holy community by His gift of grace in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The members of this community have been chosen by God through the work of Christ, adopted as sons and daughters of God, and brought near to the Father through faith in His Son. All people with this faith—Jews and Gentiles alike—were dead in their transgressions and sins but have been made alive because of the person and work of Jesus Christ." Article HERE.

LUKE 16 16…15 So He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is prized among men is detestable before God. 16 The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the gospel of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it. 17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for a single stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law.…
READING & COMMENTARY

"It is important to keep Jesus' statement in context. He had just said:" "The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John". John the Baptist's coming did not void the law of the prophets. The word of God is the authority and the New Covenant of Christ shedding of blood does not destroy the law. You can read and study these articles yourself. It is interesting to read the complete book of Ephesians in the
New Testament to get a sense of the whole nine yards of that book. As summed up in one article "The Law of the Lord is perfect (Psalm 19:7). Till heaven and earth pass away, God's Holy Word—all of it—will continue to accomplish all that it was sent to do (Isaiah 55:11)." See that means the law is not void but what Christ would like is peace in the camps between Jew and Gentile believers in messiah. What does all of this mean to a believer. It seems confusing. The mosaic law fulfilled it requirements in what appears to be some form of dispensation but it is not really void. The focus is not on keeping the law but rather on peace between believers that should support the love of Christ.
Love covers many sins. That is the love of Christ that should be present in believers.  Mind you there are other sections of laws such as ceremonial, spiritual, and moral behavior, Judicial/Civil Law, etc. We know people that have the holy spirit working in them are guided by God's spirit too. At the same time we should not be ignorant to the spirit of disobedience working in some people in the world or the spirit of Anti Christ. We are made perfect in Christ. We seek his righteousness. We have to note also that it is written that we are not able/required to focus/keep all of the law because if we break one point than we would be guilty of breaking all points. What then. God could sentence us right to hell but he is gracious and kind. He provided grace. A problem is in the carnal nature of humans we tend to then think that we have a license to sin. We are reminded that man will not live on bread and water alone but by every idle word as we will give an account for such on the day of judgment. A good man/woman will be a righteous man/woman whom fears God and has a redeemed heart and walks in holiness according to Christ being their master. Such a person walks in the light and realizes the messiah is a mighty King and Savior. There is a way that appears right unto a man or woman and in the end it is death. Christ said all that came before him were thieves and robbers. He is the ONLY DOOR.  You cannot earn your way in some other way. He demonstrated his requirements in his earthly mission by his teaching and being a doer, by being the example of righteousness and holiness unto man. What did Christ tell the Samaritan woman! 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Get saved and turn to the God of the bible ASAP.
