Admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing to the lord

 Is Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” a Christian Song?

He Leonard was raised Jewish and became a Buddhist monk. He said he’s not looking for a new religion. You know I was just thinking today how some people claim that they are spiritual. Making this claim many of them are saying they have spirituality but they don’t have the truth. They want to incorporate the defiled world into their mind-frame. Can’t serve two masters! See that doesn’t work because there’s only one God and one mediator between God and man and that is the man Christ Jesus. Necromancer - let there be none found among you. You can’t separate spiritualism and single it out. God’s word tells us you have to love him with all your heart mind and soul. (Deuteronomy) With everything you’ve got. I meant to really stress you cannot serve two masters. You know the gospel says what “Gentiles” sacrifice they do to devils. 1 Corinthians 10:20 It will never ever work. In a sense we might be/will be hovering onto spiritual fornication. You see we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against wicked spiritual forces. This is the way the world exists. Please see Deuteronomy 18:10-12 as well.

Only the truth can set you free... some people know him only in the name.

 So many people look for answers to life. The answer is the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. The answer is the biblical Lord Jesus Christ. Perhaps Leonard suffered pain like many people in life and he looked for an answer. His feelings and his passion are expressed in gratitude of distress, sorrow of storytelling in music and what he is going through in life is revealed in song. “If he’s not looking for a new religion then Jesus is nothing more than a charismatic name to him. “

You know people don’t like to hear about hell but unfortunately hell exist. Can you wish or sing somebody out of Hell? The answer is no. You have to believe in the biblical Jesus Christ and be covered by the blood. John 3:16 He paid the price in full. He said it is finished before he drew his last breath. It’s finished. It’s just a matter of time until all be fulfilled and the gospel is preached throughout the whole entire world and only then unfortunately the end will come.

 Now I liked Leonard song myself. On one hand Leonard is singing a spiritual song and on the other hand he singing a carnal song. Should we judge him? God’s word tells us to forgive. As written “Let God be true and every-man a liar”. Romans 3:4 

Here is the meaning of hallelujah

Now let’s see what Leonard thought of such?

I would say sing gospel hymns. Sometimes we are expressing our own life or relaying a particular story in a song and other times we are singing praise songs to the Lord. Sometimes we are singing about something that we read or came to mind. Some songs are not always about us. Christ deserves the praise.

Man will not live on bread and water alone but by every idle word that proceeds forth from the mouth of God.

So I guess the question you would ask is this serious and does it really matter. Well I don’t think particularly that God would judge us for expressing ourselves or relating a story as a parable or poem in song. Some songs are therapeutically healing. But once you come to know the true risen biblical lord Jesus Christ then your main focus should be on him. You see many things that we highly esteem are nothing more than an abomination onto the Lord.

 Sing gospel hymns.

The way is very narrow.. many cannot accept this. If you are truly saved and born again you are a new creation in Christ. Than you must grow in holiness. You cant maintain the world and Christ. One of the greatest travesties is that people believe that you can serve two masters while being in Christ. It is impossible. If the biblical Lord Jesus Christ is the high priest and he is the king and the saviour of the body you can’t have it both ways. You can convince yourself in your own mind but it is not so. 12:44 am April 2, 2021
