Fiery indignation which shall devour the adversaries

June 18, 2020 8:33 pm 8:44 pm finalized

What is indignation
? Anger or annoyance provoked by what is perceived as unfair treatment. See it's as perceived. Sometimes it could actually be a fact but you must pray that you enter NOT into temptation. Repay not evil for evil as vengeance is his as written.  Don't trample the blood of the lamb/the son of God. Don't insult the spirit of grace. (1)

Punishment for willful sin (KJV)

Hebrews 10:26-31 kjv

"
26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. ((28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:)) 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

There were people under Moses law that died without mercy under Two or three witnesses in the old testament of course. If you are saved and you are born again then shall grace abound without ceasing? As the Apostle Paul said "God forbid". If it does happen confess your sins right away as the Lord he is faithful and will forgive you. You got to remember to renew your mind. Romans 12:2 KJV Pray and think of things that are of God and not things that are of the world.

Now particularly 28. this passage is what I'm interested in. Scripture mentions that we could boast in our weakness
2 Cor 12:9 and there is also  a reference to Grace and not making it a license to sin. Shall grace abound as it is written. You know in the sermon on the Mount the Lord Jesus Christ said be holy as your father is Holy. The word of God also tells us there is not one who has  knowledge or really seeks after him. Christ said only the father is good. Our good or even our good intentions maybe a glimmer of hope but it is not justification for true holiness. Perhaps it will not be this way in the life to come. Being born again is said to be saint material but I reject pride period. We have to seek his righteousness. He is the master. He is the teacher. Another more harsher definition of Fiery indignation is perhaps vicious unholy willful undignified anger which is sinful. For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins. Remember the Lord Jesus Christ said to pray that you fall not into temptation. Matthew 26.41

Now I think it wise to have a look at Hebrews 6:6 which is pretty important and directly related called
A call to maturity.

Hebrews 6:6 "and then have fallen away to be restored again to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame."…

"5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age.. 6 and then have fallen away.. to be restored again to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame. 7 For land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is tended receives the blessing of God.…"

Now look, read, Study  Romans 2:9 1-31 which is entitled
No one is righteous.

Hebrews 10:29 "How much more severely do fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?" You can abuse grace. Remember that if you are truly born again. Remember what the lord said that in the day of judgment many will tell him they cast out demons and did many wonderful works in his name and he will proclaim/profess unto them he never knew them and to get away from him. Well! they were not unbelievers! Were they biblical Christians or even believers in another Jesus and another gospel? Their works counted for little/not for much! Why! They disobeyed the lord. They were workers of iniquity.... lawless, perhaps Christians whom are/were pharisees and trampled/profaned the blood of the covenant. Backsliders! Evil doers whom WILLFULLY do as they please! Just the parables alone tells us how one is to be under the lord.  Repent or perish or you will all likewise perish. Luke 13.3
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Just as written in Matthew 23:15 kjv "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

What is a proselyte? : A person who has converted from one opinion, religion, or party to another. God highly esteems a contrite person.

As written in Proverbs 9:10 KJV

Be at peace among yourselves

June 16, 2020  5:44 pm / 9:44 pm

Entitled... . Be at peace among yourselves

The second Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Thessalonians.

Direct References

These are instructions from Paul the Apostle on how the Thessalonians were to "conduct themselves." There were members that were disorderly among them. Some people in biblical Christianity might use this as a means that people should follow their way of biblical organized Christianity. That means Sunday worship instead of Saturday worship but this is not what this is talking about. There are members in Churches today that have problems with disorderly conduct. There are people in Churches today that have problems with sexual fornication's, idolatry & even the prosperity gospel. There are people that come drunk or high or live not according to the gospel which is to live at peace with people especially those whom believe in your particular denominations. To abstain from the pollution of the world. And Worship God hopefully in spirit & truth and love/forgive others. What I find is some of the same cult minded fishing is what some people use as sort of bate-tactic which is unfounded and basically wrong/flawed.  The man on the cross being a thief was granted eternal life by Christ himself. He was not asked  which day he worships or where he attended nor which forms of biblical Christianity he believe in if any!. It's a personal relationship. You got to remember this was a long long time ago with these Thessalonians. The gospel tells us there are many parts of the body and one part can't tell the other part they are not needed. 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

Now there are Bible scholars even true believers that are not members of any organized biblical Christianity but they are true believers and probably even saved. As one scholar once said many of the prophets and people written about in the gospel were not members of organized religion at all. See when it's talking about the traditions which is really that they weren't walking according to the instructions of the Apostle. His instructions were to be at peace with others and not disorderly. Not to be idle. This has nothing to do with following the traditions of men nor keeping pagan traditions. Not that I am implying to do so. But there are those in organized biblical Christianity that will make it as Paul is talking about  portraying this as what it's saying for believers whom are Christians today. That is a far cry from the truth.

"As a whole, Christians have departed from the pattern laid down in the book of Acts." Did others write about this deviation. yes... New Testament warnings of deviations from the faith. "Furthermore, the Bible indicates that toward the end of the first century, many departed from the faith. As Jude wrote: “Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints." See HERE God is not the author of confusion as written. 8:55 am June 18, 2020

What is an Ordinance? A piece of legislation enacted by a municipal authority. An authoritative order; a decree. What was against us? The Law. The ten commandments convicted us of our sin. Our sins lead to death. There is life in Christ because he is the flawless unblemished lamb that takes away the sins of the world. Our debt has been paid. This was nailed to the cross. However this does not mean for born again believers/Christians they are now free to conveniently break Gods laws and follow the traditions of men. They may and it will be much more harsh for teachers on the day of Judgment. There are preachers whom do not keep the traditions of men.

The second Epistle of Paul the Apostle the headings are as such:
1.) Patience and faith in persecutions
2.) The mystery of iniquity.
3.) The Lord is faithful and B: Peace by all means.
And here it is below.

2 Thessalonians 3:16-18 King James Version
"16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. 17 The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all." Amen.

Now in The second Epistle to the Thessalonians again as I mentioned earlier that there were people in this Church gathering that were walking disorderly. They were Idol. Not doing anything. Someone not working for the cause of the gospel/Christ. It's interesting to note in 2 Thessalonians 5 it is written : "Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer.". The Thessalonians like others we're being persecuted for their beliefs in the Lord.

Now I am looking at 2 Thessalonians 2 which is entitled "It's a mystery of iniquity." We know that iniquity means lawlessness or carelessness. "Now we beseech you brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and by our gathering together on to him." I just wanted you to know that they're gathered in worship and dedication. Many biblical Christians could be gathered in worship in different denominations with different teachings as they truly are. They are told not to be troubled or shaken in mind neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as the day of Christ is at hand. Not by the letter from us. Sometimes Paul and his Council might send them a letter addressing concerns in their church. He is saying let nothing trouble you. Now they are told to let no man trouble them because there will be a falling away before the man of perdition is revealed. A falling away from what? From belief and from following the gospel. Maybe a different religion. They are sort of being told about the Antichrist who exalts himself above God. This is what it's getting at. Because in Thessalonians 2.4 it is written.."Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped so that he asked God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Are there people on Earth right now that do such a thing or have said such a thing?  Of course. I've heard that in others teachings beforehand. Its quite obvious.

Paul is saying when he was with them that he told them of such things. How could Paul have known such a thing? The Holy Spirit. Paul did not get his revelation from Men. He got it from Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:12  Christ told the Apostles/Disciples things that were profound as well.

The mystery of iniquity

Now when we go down 2 Thessalonians (2, 8 & 9) it is telling us of such a condition. What is the mystery of iniquity? The man of sin. The lawless man who exalts himself to the place of God. It tells us there in due time that "he" will be taken out of the way. It also tells us in Thessalonians 2:2.8 that the Lord will consume him with his mouth when he comes. Actually with the spirit of his mouth and he shall be destroyed with the brightness of his coming. It tells us that such a man comes with the work of Satan. He sits in a temple showing himself to be God". And he does this with all power and signs & lying wonders. It tells us  such is done with deceitfulness and unrighteousness in them that perish because they received not the love of the truth that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie. That they might all be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. You see whoever follows such a man being a person who exalts himself to the place of God and he's worshiped as such... those people are lost and they're not saved. They might all be damned according to the gospel. Harsh words. Warning from God.

Now in 2 Thessalonians 2:13 it is entitled: Called to the obtaining of Christ Glory.

And as it is written... "But we are bound always to give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to Salvation through sanctification of the spirit and belief of the truth. Some people might say this is Calvinism. That they were chosen from the beginning to be saved. What did they believe? What truth did they believe? The gospel today is the 66 books of the King James Bible. In their day they had the old testament but Paul is the New Testament Apostle. "Whereon they were called by God for salvation to the gospel and to obtaining of the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ." They are instructed, "Therefore brethren, stand fast, and hold to that traditions which you have been taught, whether by word or our epistle." What were the traditions? Was it Sunday worship? Did they keep pagan holidays? They were taught about the Lord Jesus Christ and the gospel. That being the Jewish biblical Jesus Christ. Remember Paul was a Jew and he was once a Pharisee. They were taught most likely to abstain from perhaps eating certain foods sacrificed to idols that perhaps defiled them or "not" being at peace among themselves with other members. They were taught to obey the gospel in righteousness. They were taught to obey what is written in the gospel? To hold fast to the truth that Christ is real, risen and the lord being the lamb that takes away the sins of the world. Lots is in the gospel. Just the parables of the lord Jesus Christ alone explain how one is to act accordingly when a person/Christian follow the lord Jesus Christ.

These Thessalonians have been loved by the father as the Apostle Paul says and they have been given everlasting consolation and Good Hope through Grace. That word Grace is a word that requires study as people do abuse it. There is a difference in somebody who abuses grace and is lost or somebody who is a born again Christian believer. Then he/Paul goes on to say..."The lord comfort your hearts and will establish you in every good word and work". They are told Paul & his ministry team have confidence in the Thessalonians that they will do the things they are commanded.

Now looking at 2 Thessalonians 3.

They're told finally to pray for us/all believers that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you/them. They want to be delivered from wicked and unreasonable men for all men have not faith as it is written. (They have been persecuted.) The Lord is faithful who shall establish you/being them and keep you/them from evil. Again remember these Thessalonians were being persecuted as others were in that time period. The Lord directs their hearts onto the love of God. Remember. Christ once said pray that ye enter not into temptation. They could be tempted to do evil to those whom do evil to them. That's not love as you can't repay evil with evil. They have to be steadfast and remain loyal to the cause of Christ. After all he loved us before we loved him as it is written. 1 John 4:19 Now they are told or commanded in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to withdraw themselves as I've spoken about this before earlier in this blog from men who "walk disorderly". Men that fall into temptation and perhaps some of these men could be believers. Perhaps people that pay people back evil for evil especially among them selves. Disorderly people committing acts of violence or sexual misconduct among them. That's not love.  Likewise Christ said that his sheep obey him. They know his voice. Paul is saying they labored for the food they have. In other words they didn't steal it so they're chargeable to no man. They are told to follow this example. See because he tells them if there's any that will not work they shall not eat. They can't be lazy. They are told with quietness in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ they work and eat their own bread. And that if any man obey not the word of this epistle and of course he is talking about this Thessalonian group being the Christian Church people/Christians that they are to have no company with such evil doers. That such men ought to be ashamed. The word closes by saying... "Yet count him not as an enemy but admonish him as a brother." This means to warn or reprimand someone firmly."

Now the last part of 2 Thessalonians 2.16 - 18 is entitled "Peace by all means." And as it is written.. "The Lord of Peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token and every epistle so I write. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all." Amen

Sanctified by the temple

June 9, 2020 10:44 am

Sanctify meaning: "Set apart as or declare holy; consecrate."

Matthew 23:17 King James Version (KJV)
17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

Matthew 5:24
Leave there your gift before the altar, and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

What does it mean to leave your gift at the altar?

"In the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus Christ says something that has long puzzled me and provoked a great deal of thought: “Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way."  9.28.2014 Nathaniel Bright ((Then come and offer your gift.)): "It was because the temple was the place of God's presence that what was therein was consecrated."

Reference: Matthew 23:17 "Which is greater?" 23-1 link

This is deep and very meaningful. Here are a few profound deep commentaries that sheds light on this passage of scripture/topic.

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary.
"5:21-26 "The Jewish teachers had taught, that nothing except actual murder was forbidden by the sixth commandment. Thus they explained away its spiritual meaning. Christ showed the full meaning of this commandment; according to which we must be judged hereafter, and therefore ought to be ruled now. All rash anger is heart murder. By our brother, here, we are to understand any person, though ever so much below us, for we are all made of one blood. Raca, is a scornful word, and comes from pride: Thou fool, is a spiteful word, and comes from hatred. Malicious slanders and censures are poison that kills secretly and slowly. Christ told them that how light soever they made of these sins, they would certainly be called into judgment for them. We ought carefully to preserve Christian love and peace with all our brethren; and if at any time there is a quarrel, we should confess our fault, humble ourselves to our brother, making or offering satisfaction for wrong done in word or deed: and we should do this quickly; because, till this is done, we are unfit for communion with God in holy ordinances. And when we are preparing for any religious exercises, it is good for us to make that an occasion of serious reflection and self-examination. What is here said is very applicable to our being reconciled to God through Christ. While we are alive, we are in the way to his judgement-seat; after death, it will be too late. When we consider the importance of the case, and the uncertainty of life, how needful it is to seek peace with God, without delay!"

Pulpit Commentary
Verse 17. - Ye fools. Jesus adds to "blind" the epithet "fools," which implies not only the irrationality and absurdity of their practice, but also its moral delinquency, the fool in sapiential language being the sinner. The temple that sanctifieth the gold. Our Lord shows the absurdity of this sophistical distinction. It was because the temple was the place of God's presence that what was therein was consecrated. The gold was nothing without the temple; the temple, the originally holy, is superior to the gold, the derivatively holy, and an oath that calls the temple to witness is surely obligatory.

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary
"23:13-33 The scribes and Pharisees were enemies to the gospel of Christ, and therefore to the salvation of the souls of men. It is bad to keep away from Christ ourselves, but worse also to keep others from him. Yet it is no new thing for the show and form of godliness to be made a cloak to the greatest enormities. But dissembled piety will be reckoned double iniquity. They were very busy to turn souls to be of their party. Not for the glory of God and the good of souls, but that they might have the credit and advantage of making converts. Gain being their godliness, by a thousand devices they made religion give way to their worldly interests. They were very strict and precise in smaller matters of the law, but careless and loose in weightier matters. It is not the scrupling a little sin that Christ here reproves; if it be a sin, though but a gnat, it must be strained out; but the doing that, and then swallowing a camel, or, committing a greater sin. While they would seem to be godly, they were neither sober nor righteous. We are really, what we are inwardly. Outward motives may keep the outside clean, while the inside is filthy; but if the heart and spirit be made new, there will be newness of life; here we must begin with ourselves. The righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees was like the ornaments of a grave, or dressing up a dead body, only for show. The deceitfulness of sinners' hearts appears in that they go down the streams of the sins of their own day, while they fancy that they should have opposed the sins of former days. We sometimes think, if we had lived when Christ was upon earth, that we should not have despised and rejected him, as men then did; yet Christ in his Spirit, in his word, in his ministers, is still no better treated. And it is just with God to give those up to their hearts' lusts, who obstinately persist in gratifying them. Christ gives men their true characters."

Christ concluded "an oath based on the temple was binding." How many people put their hands on the bible and proceed to lie. How wicked that fallen nature can be. In the end we cannot/should not be Pharisees or hypocrites. The temple, the originally holy, is superior to the gold. "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;" How many people are truly aware of this? Profound !!! "We sometimes think, if we had lived when Christ was upon earth, that we should not have despised and rejected him, as men then did." So many reject him in truth and in spirit! So many are deceived and lost! Idols have no agreement with the body of Christ. 2 Corinthians 6:15

See these religious leaders were teachers of the law and they had a heavy weight on them teaching sitting in Moses seat. Especially since the affiliation God has/had with Israel.

At last but not least as the wonderful Henry Matthew stated: "We ought carefully to preserve Christian love and peace with all our brethren; and if at any time there is a quarrel, we should confess our fault, humble ourselves to our brother, making or offering satisfaction for wrong done in word or deed: and we should do this quickly; because, till this is done, we are unfit for communion with God in holy ordinances."

His grace is sufficient for us

WE CAN'T DO IT ON
OUR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS
June 7, 2020 5.21 am 5.44

  • Romans 3:10-12 King James Version (KJV)
"10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

Once a person becomes reborn as a believer that is a great start but still this passage above is severe. Our minds and sometimes our thoughts have become so polluted by worldliness/sin nature as you know that falling nature tends to make one stray even when we imply/say we don't. We don't know it all and we cannot be Pharisees but at the same time what matters to Christ is not those things we bring or think are valuable when they are an abomination to God. They are not eternal but really obstacles of illusion. To forgive as God has forgiven us is important. JOHN 3:16 as this God reminds me often. How merciful he is to those that come to him. The line "Our own knowledge" is two fold. We can obtain/learn more knowledge but we can also reject the undenial truth that has been HIJACKED. That's why I said many people have a cartoon figure of Christ Jesus. And as in a cult nature when spelled out some Christians think it's Satin attacking them but it's really Satin's work of deception and what has been aforementioned here that makes them reject with vengeance the undeniable rock solid truth.

Just as explained of Matthew 13:12. "It means that those who reject the knowledge of God will become more and more confused whereas those who accept the knowledge of Christ will become increasing wise. Mat 13:12 For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away."

Romans 10:3-4, “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.”   His grace is sufficient for us believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. You can sin wilfully or ignorantly. Shall grace abound or be extended? Or shall you be cut off. How much more valuable you are than sparrows.

As in Barnes Notes on the Bible. "Of God's righteousness" - Not of the personal holiness of God, "but of God's plan of justifying people, or of declaring them righteous by faith in his Son;" see the note at Romans 1:17. Here God's plan stands opposed to their efforts to make themselves righteous by their own works.

As in Henry Mathews commentary. "The Jews built on a false foundation, and refused to come to Christ for free salvation by faith, and numbers in every age do the same in various ways. The strictness of the law showed men their need of salvation by grace, through faith. And the ceremonies shadowed forth Christ as fulfilling the righteousness, and bearing the curse of the law."

Foot notes ..
  • No likewise way am I suggesting that Christians become Pharisees. That is not the way of Christ. But at the same time we should be able to acknowledge the route of the Christian faith which is a Hebraic faith. Christ was Jewish. God was/is working his WILL. And! gentiles are not Jews. See Galatians 3:28-29 kjv.

He Christ Jesus freed us from the curse of the law. Especially if you are a born again Christian are we then justified to think to break the law just because he provided grace. Shall grace abound? See he said there's not even one good. Confess your sins when they happen and those who say they are sinless are  liars. He's also the life. And of course the truth.

Colossians 2:9 King James Version (KJV)

9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

What mercy  John 3:16 : Praise his holy name. Make melody unto the lord.

I came not to send peace but a sword.

"36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household." Matthew 10:34-36 kjv.

It is not me as a Christian believer in messiah/Christ that divides but the word of God. It instructs me as a believer in the biblical Jewish lord Jesus Christ on how to worship, pray and to contend for the faith. As a believer in the biblical Jewish Messiah I do that. He is the truth, the way and the life. He is RISEN! Amen

In Exodus 20:3-5 it is written to have no other Gods before the real God of the bible/Israel, make no graven images nor serve them or bow down to them and that God judges iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generations of those whom hate him. It is written God does not change today, tomorrow and forever.

Now then it is written in Deuteronomy 4:2 kjv "2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you." We are not under law but at the same time are we to transgress the commandments of God and keep pagan holidays?. There are some biblical Churches whom do such and some whom don't/never do. The small remnant never does/did. As well there are members of the body of Christ whom are separate and don't do such.  I am told the early Christians would not recognize the Christianity of today. I've heard one pasture saying in a service they are trying to associate "You" to his followers/sheep/Church attendees with belial/paganism and such. No! Nothing to do with that. What is being stated is what the bible says/implies. Now I know John 3:16 and Christ is able to forgive. They will say everything has been nailed to the cross and now we are under a new covenant to justify keeping some pagan traditions that have seeped into biblical Christianity.   I say/know its sin and wrong.  There is one article out of many on paganism in Christianity HERE   You know the lord Jesus Christ said "13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye."     Just as written in collossians 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." Is he the lord Jesus Christ not the King and the head of the body? Is he okay with sin? I don't think so. Does it matter what God thinks? I think so. I do like some preachers regardless but I am not in favor of keeping pagan holidays.

And again as written in Luke 9:62  (KJV) "62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." 2 Corinthians 6:15-17 kjv makes it crystal clear. The word of God goes forward.
